Anyone have any plans for the 4th?
In other news, I had 2 great dates this weekend, so I’m not too upset that I missed Pride.
I also bought some bomb-ass dishes today and found the original Battlestar Galactica on tape at Goodwill.

So i’ve recently started the “Couch to 5-K” running plan and have begun my exploration of the Clio Bike path. It’s fortunately exactly 3 miles to the end and back, so it works really well for my workout. The workout, as well as a Podcast to guide you on your run, can be found here. Anyone else feel like getting in shape with me?
I’m currently on Week 2 of 9, which consists of 2 minute walk/90 second run intervals. The intervals will get me to running a full 5k by the end of the 9 weeks. My phone can track and calculate my workouts, so I’ll be periodically posting my results (you probably don’t care, but it’s extra incentive for me to do it.)
Today’s workout:
Distance: 3.4 miles
Time: 34:20
Average Speed: 6mph
Max Speed: 14.5mph
Calories burnt: 569.1
we’ll see if I end up as a running machine by the end of summer.

To honor the upcoming release of the new Pixar film, Wall-E, I thought I’d take a trip with Luke Skywalker and drag some of my favorite movie robots from the Jawa scrapheap. They may be steel and wire, but they can sure warm our hearts.
Check out my list of the Top 10 Movie Robots over the I Heart Movies Blog!

A Barbie Doll of Tippi Hedron as Melanie Daniels in The Birds. I’ve always assumed that her bad taste in that olive green dress was why the birds hated her so much.
“Look at the gas, that man’s lighting a cigar!”
I love this doll more than life itself. You can procure this artifact as a present for me here.

I’m hard pressed to find anything more perfect than the Summer Anthem; a song that whispers “Hey, bitches. It’s hot outside” on a cool evening’s breeze. The Pantheon of Summer Anthems include ballads such as:
- Bryan Adams - Summer of 69
- 2Pac - California Love
- Ace of Base - Cruel Summer
- LFO - Summer Girls
- Sisqo - The Thong Song
- Nelly - Hot in Herre
- Weezer - Island in the Sun
- Justin Timberlake - Summer Love
However, a new track as ascended to the Heavens to become the new Summer Anthem.
New Kids on the Block - Summertime
Yes, the New Kids have returned like the Phoenix (something that, like summer, is hot) to deliver the message that the Summer Season has arrived, and it’s okay for us to unbutton our shirts and mack on the ladies.
My spirit explodes like the 4th of July when I hear this track and it’s the perfect tune for rolling down the highway in your drop-top.
Check out this new video from the New Kids and get ready, because bitches, it’s hot outside.

So basically, I’ve been feeling crafty lately and I thought I’d share some of my work with you!
1. ipod Case - I made this from a lone fuzzy sock I found at the bottom of my drawer. Works nicely to keep my iPod scratch free.
2. Korean-Style Sleeveless Hoodie - I had wanted a Korean-Style sleeveless hoodie like the one shown, so I decided to make one by recycling an old SVSU sweatshirt. I removed the sleeves and hood, scooped the neck, and then reattached the hood using some extra fabric from the sleeves. I like how it turned out.
3. Cuffed denim Manpris - I know y’all are naysayers, but I think they’re cute. And I had some denim I was going to throw out anyway. I slimmed down the legs and stitched the rolled cuffs into place.
4. Finally, I decided to make a new wallet. I used denim from the pant legs of my manpris. I used a serger to get the selvage look and left the edges to fray.
What do you all think?
